Common Questions

Have you helped anyone with the issue I’m experiencing?

While allopathic or modern medicine will look at your symptoms and give you a diagnosis of disease and a medication that addresses those symptoms, Naturopathy looks at the whole person, on an individual basis, to see what the root cause is for your symptoms.  Then a plan is formulated to best support your body.  For example, take any three people with a thyroid condition (even if it has been diagnoses by a physician as the same condition for all three).  Each of these people will have a very different reason for their thyroid imbalance and will need a different program to help the body reestablish balance.  At Holistic Whole Health, we look at you as an individual with very specific circumstances that have led to where you are.  Because you are unique, you will need a program tailored with suggestions to help you address all issues – body, mind, and spirit.  We have helped peple with varied digestive concerns, skin issues, yeast and fungal conditions, heavy metal poisoning, depression and anxiety, chronic pain, low energy, weakened immunity, ADD and other Autism spectrum disorders, and many more including those not labeled by modern medicine!

Is healing from the condition I have even possible?

The body wants to maintain homeostasis or balance and heal itself.  However, we often don’t give the body what it needs and haven’t been for years!  This leads to a weakened state allowing for dis-ease to develop.  Remember, you did not develop your symptoms overnight–it took months or years for your body to reach the point of showing you symptoms to get your attention.  The body is made to heal and regenerate itself.  Health is not about just one area of life.  With the right building blocks including food, air, sleep, mental state, light, air, and water we can accomplish a great deal.  Yet many of us neglect one or more of these areas.  Together, we will work to identify toxins that have affected your body, nutritional deficiencies, and negative memories and emotions that are stored in your body’s tissues.  There is always reason for hope.

Am I going to have to change my diet?

The short answer is yes.  Remember, you are what you eat.  We wouldn’t put water in our gas tank and expect it to get us from point A to point B.  We wouldn’t skip building the foundation for a house and expect it to stand.  You have to give the body what it needs and limit your intake of things that do not promote health.  Nutrients from our foods provide the basic foundation for every cell in the body as it works to clean and rebuild itself daily.  In our society, we have been eating less nutritionally dense, more processed and chemical laden foods for generations now.  This is a huge part of why we see so many health issues.  While eating poorly today won’t kill you, it will eventually lead to pain and dis-ease in the future.  We must nourish ourselves with our food, not simply stuff our face with the most convenient, cheapest grub.  It is vital to recognize this.  So, long answer, yes, you will need to change your diet because the foods you are addicted to may be the very things harming your health.

How long will it take to heal?

Remember, you did not reach this state overnight.  A general rule of thumb is it will take 3 months plus a month for every year you’ve been experiencing symptoms to fully allow the body to feel its best.  However, changes can occur quicker or slower.  Mostly, the timeline depends heavily on you and what you are willing to change.  You are the person making daily choices that lead you to dis-ease or health.  You are in charge and are responsible for your body, mind, and spirit.

What do I need to do before the appointment?

Please fill out the forms (sent to your email) and send them back before your appointment.

How many appointments will I need?

This is very personal to each individual and the specific condition/situation being worked on.  For something very simple, we may need an initial consultation followed by one more visit in 4-6 weeks with a bi-annual or annual followup after that.  For others, we will work every 4-6 weeks typically until we are no longer “peeling back layers” of imbalance and have established a firm foundation to build and maintain health.  However, it is very different for different people.

Meridian Balance/Allergy Correction

By using our own nervous system to map the acupressure and meridian points, we are able to overcome allergies.improve health and overcome allergies by mapping the Acupressure and Meridian points on a client.

Color Therapy (Spectro-Chrome Therapy)

Use specific colors to refill your aura and stimulate your body to heal itself.  The beginning of the appointment will be determining what color you need.  The remainder of the appointment will be a time for you to relax in a darkened room with the color shining on your body.

CranioSacral Bodywork

Light-touch therapy.  This focuses on freeing up restrictions in the body that inhibit the flow of cerebrospinal fluid.  This fluid bathes, nourishes, and reoxygenates the nervous and has a profound effect on our overall health and wellbeing.

Emotional Release

Using essential oils for emotional healing.  If you could uncover and heal the root cause of your illness or emotional pain would you? Could you open your heart to the beautiful and awesome creation that you really are?  Research has suggested that we carry in our DNA inherited emotional baggage from past generations as well as our own. These emotions are stored in the amygdala gland in the brain, part of the limbic system. Essential Oils are used because they are capable of breaking through the blood/brain barrier. Essential Oils can travel to the amygdala gland where emotions are stored and the aroma helps release these stored emotions.  During an Emotional Centering session, you may experience flashbacks or think about things in the past – or you may experience little emotion.  Procedure: Lying on a table, fully clothed and with soft music playing, essential oils are applied to different areas of the body. No talking is necessary during the session. (Please wear old comfortable clothes – as the oils may stain.)

Energy Work

Everything is vibration and energy.  From meridian tracing to chakra work, Ylona has training in several modalities to help balance your energy, remove any energetic trauma from your past lives or family history, and balance your chakras and auric field.

Homeopathy

Extensive health interview to determine which homeopathic remedies are best.  This 200-year-old approach is capable of stimulating your immune system and bringing you back to health safely and gently.

Infant Massage

These sessions focus on the healing power of touch for your baby.  This technique can be used on children up til about 6 years old.  During a session, I will demonstrate the protocol and teach you how to continue this loving work at home to increase the wellbeing of your child.  30 minute sessions are recommended and will include a massage from me on your child for about 10-15 minutes (the recommended length of any child massage) and instructing you on how to work with your child at home; hour long sessions will include all from the 30 minute sessions as well as adding a more intense focus on increasing your level of comfort with this protocol while only working on your infant for a small part of the time.

Iridology

Includes iris pictures and analysis.  The iris, the colored portion of the eye, offers a map of our bodies.  Examining the iris can reveal areas of inflammation, where it is located, and what stage it is manifesting.  The iris records body’s constitution, inherent weaknesses, levels of health, and the transitions that take place in a person’s body according to the way he or she lives. Please read more here before coming to your appointment.

Lymphatic Drain

Gentle-pressure technique to help the body remove waste contained in the lymph fluid.

Magnet & Polarity Therapy

This therapy helps to bring the our electromagnetic field back into balance.  Just like the Earth has a North and South polarity and corresponding magnetism, so do all living things.  Many modern devices (cell phones, wifi, Bluetooth, etc) interact and affect our magnetic fields.  Many symptoms can occur from this foreign electromagnetic energy pollution (including headaches, inflammation, exhaustion, insomnia, etc) that surrounds us on a day to day basis.

Meridian Balance

We can map and trace meridian lines and use acupressure points to bring these energy channels back into balance.

Naturopathic Bodywork

Bodywork moves the soft tissues of the body using techniques such as kneading, sliding, pressure, vibration, friction, and stretching. Some benefits include pain relief, relaxation, improved circulation, muscle relaxation, alleviating muscular pain, improvement in cellular nutrition, relief from effects of stress, reduction of anxiety, and relief from sports injuries.  Ylona is trained in various bodywork protocols, but is not a massage therapist.  Naturopathic bodywork is not massage therapy, though some of the techniques may be utilized. Rather, naturopathic bodywork is a hands-on therapy using modalities appropriate for a specific person while incorporating essential oils, flower essences, and other naturopathic tools. For more information, please read my post on What is a naturopathic bodyworker.

Raindrop Therapy

This technique involves dropping Essential Oils directly onto the spine from about 6 inches above the body. The oils are then worked into the spine using light strokes with the fingers which stimulate nerve impulses and disperse the oils along the nervous system throughout the entire body. In this way, the body can be brought into balance and the energy centers can be cleared and re-aligned.  This unique therapy will also help to reduce spinal inflammations and kill viruses that hibernate along the spinal column, as well as help to straighten any spinal curvatures. Although a session lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour, the oils will continue to work in the body for a week or more following the treatment.

Reflexology

Working with pressure points on the feet.  There are 7,200 nerve endings in the bottom of each foot.  These connect to all areas of the body.  Releasing tension in this area can be a boon to one’s body in removing waste, and ensuring proper nerve flow, thereby aiding our health. Foot Reflexology has been widely accepted as a valid means of making one feel good, relaxing and noticeably functioning better.  Though we can do reflexology for an hour, the recommended time is 30 minutes.

Sclerology

Sclerology the science of the markings in the whites of the eyes describing conditions of health.  It is also the study of those markings and colorings in and on the scleral layers as differentiated from the signs within the conjunctive, which overlie the sclera.  Those red lines and other marks and colors in the whites of the eyes actually correspond to real conditions in our bodies.  Sclerology offers a way of viewing inherited tendencies of weakness and to see various disease processes.

Sound Therapy

Use your voice to help find greater balance and healing.  Different tones stimulate different parts of our bodies.  Voice lessons are also available (Ylona is a professional opera singer as well).

VoiceBio Analysis

Using your voice, we can find which tones in your voice are weak and help strengthen them and, by doing so, also strengthen your whole body.

Whole Body Tuning

In-depth therapy using color, sound, tuning forks, and essential oils specific to each individual/session.
